Sol Survivor

The light was too bright

 So you sought the shade

Chose to shun the sun

And run to where evil ones fade

But a day ago you basked in the glow

Reciting words to life

Spoken through strife

From the reverse of the right hand

No man left

Just the false but witness or witnesses

To vindictiveness

Perpetrated by more than one perpetrator

Of greater hatred of self and wickedness

And although the shine was divine

You felt pain in the ordained

Instead of growing while sun was glowing

You only wanted to make it rain

But the sun still shines, the sun still shines
The sun still shines even in these times
And the sun shines through reason and rhyme

So you wanted to eclipse the nearby star

Perpetrators I know who you are

Still bound to the earth

Wallowing in the dirt but not your own turf

Because sun warmed many hearts

I know you hated and still hate it

That part that you admired

Instead of inspired you desired to get hostile

Contrive conceive and deceive

But the solstice is upon your soul eternally

Beg for a pardon or fade in your shade

Either way you will feel a heat you could never defeat

Trying to blot out the Sun with bullets from a gun

Blinded and still consumed by the light

 There is nowhere to run

And the sun still shines, the sun still shines
Preordained by The Most High, my Son still skies
Even in these darkest of all times
That truth brought to life will forever blow your mind

 Shine bright my Son, shine
